New Providence United Baptist Church

709 South Main
Fredericktown, MO 63645

We welcome you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Who we are at New Providence

We are a church dedicated to keeping the fellowship strong among the saints of God.

We believe that all Christians cleansed by the blood of Christ are indeed a new creation and therefore are considered our brethren.

We want the world to know that we believe in a risen Savior, who promised that HE would, one day, take us home to be with HIM.

We especially want to observe and continue the work that Jesus Christ instituted and commanded his disciples to do:

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:  and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world."  Matt. 28:19&20

History of New Providence

New Providence United Baptist Church was organized June 9, 1957 in Fredericktown, MO. The church started with 21 members: 18 were from Oak Grove, the mother of New Providence, two from Little Vine church and one from Marble Creek church. There was a previous church named "Providence", which was organized in Aug. 1814. It was one of the charter members of Bethel Association, organized in 1816. It last represented at Bethel's Annual Meeting in 1847. It was located in Madison Co, at the headwaters of Mill Creek, east of the village of Mill Creek.

The present church was built in the 70s. It started in a basement before moving to its current location.
